Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are recruiting on behalf of our timber manufacturing client, a leader in the Green Tech industry with a strong growth trajectory. This dynamic and innovative organisation, recognized with multiple industry awards, supplies timber products for construction, pallet wood, and fencing industries across the UK and Ireland. Following recent expansions, including the acquisition of additional facilities, the company has doubled its turnover and increased its headcount to over 900 employees.

The role:

We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Area Sales Manager to join our client's expanding sales team. This field sales role will cover the South West of England and is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing and successful company.

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, self-motivated individual with proven experience in selling timber or building products. Experience in selling timber products into the builders’ merchant sector is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Proactively manage and develop an established customer base while generating new business opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key accounts and buying groups across the UK.
  • Sales Targets: Own, hit, or exceed annual sales targets and key milestones, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Territory Management: Demonstrate a strong willingness to grow, lead, and manage the sales territory effectively.
  • Sales Process: Ensure the sales process and CRM are maintained from a key account and customer service perspective.
  • Journey Planning: Utilize strong journey planning and account management experience to optimize sales activities.

Skills/experience required:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with people at all levels of the organisation, up to Director level.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow sales territories.
  • Strong customer relationship management and account management skills.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and goal-oriented.
