Role: As a Regional Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving sales growth within your region, developing strategic plans to achieve sales targets, and leading a team of sales professionals. You will be responsible for providing and manage volume and profit forecasts while developing key relationships with distributors and contractors, and to taking sole responsibility for key management of dedicated accounts as detailed. Successful candidate will ensure that teams are structured, trained and equipped to function effectively. You will be taking personal responsibility for all costs related to the running of the Team.  As Regional Sales Director you will play a key role in expanding our market share and contributing to the overall success of our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed regional sales targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of sales managers and representatives to achieve sales objectives.
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Negotiate and close agreements with large customers.
  • Monitor and analyse performance metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs.
  • Liaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency.
  • Stay up-to-date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board.
  • Ensure effective communication between other areas, internal sales teams and other business functions.
  • Ensure operational use of CRM and that regional teams update and use to best effect for project volumes.
  • To manage the current commercial product offer, develop new product approvals, manage approvals through to product sales, and develop new business opportunities.
  • To provide commercial input into the prioritisation of technical support and services to ensure that the maximum benefit for technical support is realised.
  • To identify and define commercial requirements for marketing collateral and support for business growth.
  • Ensure close communication with Polypipe Building Products and Group regarding shared interest products, and promotion of these products.
  • To take personal ownership of merchant stock business & merchant stock development for the region.
  • To take personal ownership of key national projects as directed.
  • Ensure that regular catch ups are held with team members dedicating time for their development

Requirements:

  • Educated to a Degree level would be desirable but not essential
  • Proven track record of effective sales planning and hitting sales targets is essential.
  • Experience within a sales environment & working in a technical selling role
  • Excellent negotiation skills & proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
  • Experience of working within the civils industry would be desirable but not essential & Experience of working in a corporate or business focused environment
  • Experienced in working with a diverse senior management team working to align sales strategies and solution & Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads
  • Must have a valid UK Driving Licence
