Field Based with occasional travel to the office in Leicester

The Company:

ER Recruitment are excited to be working with our client, who are an innovative, distinctive organisation who distribute their products globally and have sites based in Leicester.

They are looking for a tenacious individual to identify new business development opportunities within existing target customers and grow sales and contribution value of target products with those customers.

Role & Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:

  • Grow sales and margin percent by achieving improved pipeline value and creating new opportunities with existing customers to maximise profitability.
  • Develop new customer relationships which deliver target growth, in specific target markets.
  • Conduct contract reviews on all tenders and new business.
  • Identify any gaps in the product range and make recommendations for new products based on genuine intel and customer requirements.
  • Report on how the business can grow sales and identify any barriers, using competitor and other information to support any recommendations.
  • Ensure customer expectations are understood and communicate any specific requests internally so that excellent customer satisfaction is consistently achieved.
  • Prepare and regularly report on KPI’s including sales forecasts and performance to plan, market conditions and pricing.

About You as the Business Development Manager:

  • Driving licence is essential due to being a predominantly field-based role.
  • Ability to travel to Leicester ideally 1 day per week.
  • Experience selling products direct from manufacturer.
  • Experience in selling through distribution channels.
  • Strong communicator able to define customer needs and convey company objectives.
  • Business development and negotiation skills.
  • Brilliant relationship management skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to identify business at risk, implement actions plans to minimise risk and assure customer satisfaction.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Collaborative team player.
