Job Title:Estimator

Thorn Baker has teamed up with the industry leader in design, manufacture, and delivery of temporary and permanent modular buildings who are looking for an Estimator to support them with their growth in demand. With over 50 years' experience they are constantly looking for new ways to improve their operation and are now one of the longest standing and highest performing modular construction and portable building manufacturers in the UK.

Your Responsibilities:

• Book incoming enquires into the quotation database as required.
• Provide an efficient / timely service to customers and ensure client specified deadlines are achieved and product and unspecified quote dates are turned around efficiently.
• Presentation of quotations in line with the company upmarket image, utilising standard templates available.
• Understand / familiarise oneself with contract terms and conditions to ensure risks are identified and qualified where appropriate.
• Support business development managers in pre-post tender client meetings.
• Cost effective evaluations of projects on receipt of enquiry and obtain a practical solution to manufacturing.Ensure estimates are compiled on in-house bespoke computerised estimating system.
• Compile sub-contractor and specialist materials enquiries as required, ensuring despatch in a timely manner in line with quotation deadline. Evaluate subsequent quotations for use in our tender packages. Ensure the most competitive bids are obtained.
• Contribute to weekly / monthly Sales meetings as required and attend the monthly Project Meeting as required. Assist in the production of daily, weekly, and monthly departmental reports as required.

Required Skills:

• BSC in a relevant construction degree 2:1
• 7+ years post-graduation experience of building and construction.
• Understanding cost base risk analysis.
• Excellent written communication skills andanalytical thinking skills
• Knowledge of engineering desirable
