Platform Resourcing are working with a highly successful company based in Cwmbran who are looking to recruit a new Business Development Consultant in an exciting period of growth.

The successful candidate will have experience within a Business Development or Sales role, having experience of generating leads, arranging client visits, carrying out presentations, securing new business and account managing existing clients. You will be given warm leads, as well as being expected to generate new business of your own. The company is looking for the candidate to sell consultatively rather than transactionally, being able to understand client needs, provide technical advice, as well as a tailored service that will ultimately result in winning long term contracts. There will be continuous career development opportunities, and the role requires someone that has a real passion for winning new business, as well as the drive to forge excellent relationships with clients.

BDM Benefits:

  • Basic salary of between £30,000 and £35,000 dependent on experience

Business Development Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining a pipeline of potential business
  • Developing new client relationships, supporting with retention and maximising opportunities with existing transactional clients
  • Developing new business opportunities through lead generation, networking, online marketing and warm leads
  • Create and pursue contract opportunities, as well as developing cross sell opportunities
  • Secure new business through proactive use of warm leads
  • Involvement in the development of sales presentation and pricing structures
  • Attending and representing the business on networking and hospitality events
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create new business opportunities specific to target area
  • Setting appointments and using Social Media to advertise and reach potential customers
  • Ensure CRM system is updated and maintain detailed activity reporting
  • Produce and present monthly sales and customer data
  • Account managing retained client relationships and ensuring maintained standards to allow repeat business to contribute towards further bonus potential
  • Undertake client service reviews
  • Maintain individual new business margin above company standards Benefits provided

Business Development Essential Skills/ Experience:

  • Experience and proven ability within a similar Business Development role
  • Experience of generating your own sales leads as well as proactive use of warm leads
  • Ability to pick up technical product or service knowledge to be able to confidently promote suitable and tailored services for customers
  • Being able to establish excellent relationships with both customers and internal teams
  • Having experience of obtaining larger clients or long-term contracts would be beneficial
  • Ability to work independently, self motivated to ensure new business opportunities are found
  • Self-driven to achieve targets
  • Experience of providing sales and costing presentations
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of CRM systems
  • Experience to working to a budget and KPIs …and Good sense of humour
